ALTADIS U.S.A. TO HOST EXCLUSIVE PREMIUM CIGAR LECTURES AND TASTINGS IN SAN DIEGO AND LOS ANGELES
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Altadis U.S.A. is hosting two premium cigar lectures and tastings in California in July. Learn about growing and curing premium cigar tobacco from 44-year industry expert Larry Palombo, all while enjoying complimentary RyJ by Romeo y Julieta premium cigars, delicious food and tasty cocktails. 

The first event will be held on Thursday, July 10 at Acqua Al 2 in San Diego from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. The second event will take place on Friday, July 11 at the Standard Hotel Rooftop in Los Angeles from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. 

Tickets for both events are $15 for Montecristo Social Club members and $25 for non-members. All guests must be 21 or older to attend. Rico, a huge fan of the Pennsylvania Broadleaf, will be offering a new wrapper option to his current S.T.K. Miami Barracuda just in time for its debut at the IPCPR next month. In addition to using a delicious Maduro wrapper for the 2014 Barracuda Maduro Edition, the internal blend will be tweaked just for balance. This cigar will be made available on a limited run basis, as the Miami factory will only be manufacturing 200 boxes of each available size.

Meet JOYA RED, a new and exciting side of JDN. Some might even call it unexpected. Developed for the modern smoker by the youngest executive team in the industry, together with the most senior master blenders of Nicaragua. Juan Ignacio Martinez (31), President of JDN since 2013, led a team of contemporary executives and experienced master blenders such as Leonel Raudez (62), JDN’s factory manager since 1992, to create this beautiful new blend. The result, a vibrant smoke you will enjoy anytime, anywhere; classy as always but also a lot more fun. If you want to get technical, we created this blend with tobaccos from our beloved home of Nicaragua.

This time we moved away from our abundant use of ligeros and thick wrappers to blend with more visos and lower priming Habano wrappers. The binder and filler leafs were also grown in rich and fertile lands of Esteli, Jalapa and Condega. This combination of premium tobaccos resulted in a balanced cigar with medium strength and captivating flavors. All of which allow for an extremely pleasant smoking experience.
